When you need dinner on the table in a hurry, this easy Beef and Broccoli recipe is hard to beat. Inspired by your favorite takeout, it’s packed with tender shaved steak, crisp-tender broccoli, and a sweet and savory sauce that comes together with simple pantry ingredients. Best of all, it’s ready in about 30 minutes, making it the perfect solution for busy weeknights when everyone is hungry and time is short.

One of my favorite shortcuts is using frozen broccoli. It saves prep time without sacrificing flavor, while shaved steak cooks in just a few minutes, making this recipe as easy as it is satisfying. We almost always serve it over a bowl of fluffy white rice to soak up every bit of that rich sauce. If we’re in the mood to switch things up, we’ll swap the broccoli for sliced red and green bell peppers for a colorful twist that’s just as delicious.

Skip the takeout menu tonight—this homemade version is quick, budget-friendly, and guaranteed to become a regular on your weeknight dinner rotation.

Ingredients 

1 lb shaved steak

1 medium onion

12-16 ounces frozen broccoli 

Sauce

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

1 tsp of garlic powder

1 tsp of powdered ginger 

1 tbsp of corn starch. 

Directions 

Mix all  the sauce ingredients in bowl and set aside.

In a large skillet heat olive oil over medium high heat.  Add the shaved steak and onion to skillet and stir occasionally until meat is cooked and onions are soft.   

Add frozen broccoli florets and cook for about 5 minutes until warm and soft. 

Pour in the sauce  stir regularly until everything is coated and slightly thickens. Remove from heat and serve.
